The Avaya Partner ACS Release 8.0 processor is now available. This new release allows up to 5 CO lines and 9 stations on the ACS processor itself. The new processor is faster than the previous version, improving system-processing speed and setting the stage for future enhancements and additional applications. All existing modules and sets from PARTNER ACS system can be used or reused in conjunction with the new 509 processor. The Partner ACS processors offer Caller ID, 2 PC Card slots for quick and easy software upgrade to new releases, direct connection of analog answering machines, fax machines, telephones, and modems, 911 forced account code interaction, unique line ringing, automatic daylight savings time/standard time adjustment, programmable for up to 100 system speed dial numbers, internal call forwarding, capability for up to 2 contact-closure connections to control door locks, security systems, and other devices by using contact-closure adjunct, music on hold connector, SMDR (Station Message Detail Recording) port, and in Paging Port, power failure transfer ports, and support for 1600 DSL module, a module that contains up to 16 lines on one line jack. This release is compatible with the Partner Voice Messaging PC Card (Large and Small), Partner Mail, Partner Mail VS Voice Mail System,and Partner Messaging R.1 and R.6.
Larger Line and Station Capacity - The ACS R8 processor comes pre-equipped with 5 CO Lines and 9 ETR Station Ports.
Flexible Paging Port - You may now use any available CO Line Port as a Loudspeaker Paging Port. The dedicated Paging port is now used for CO Line 5. However, if your customers paging system requires a dry contact relay, you must use CO Line port 5 on the processor module. Please note: The R8 does not have an audio input jack. A CO line port must be used to connect an outside Music On Hold device.
Faster Processor - The ACS R8 has a dramatically improved processor (more MIPS per second), setting the stage for future enhancements and applications.
On-Board Backup and Restore Capability - With the new non-volatile memory, the ACS R8 allows you to do manual and automatic programming backups to the processor module, eliminating the need to have the Remote Access Card (which is now no longer included with the ACS R8 processor module.) Additionally, every time you enter the Programming Mode (FEATURE 00), the ACS R8assumes you are making changes and will do an Automatic Backup at 3AM the following morning.
Dedicated Administration Port - To further simplify administration of the PARTNER ACS R8 system, we've now provided an Administration port on the processor. Simply connect your desktop or laptop to this port via the PC's serial connection, and using the free ACS R8 PC Administration software program, you can easily administer the ACS R8 system. This eliminates the dial-up and connection issues you may have experienced with older ACS releases. If remote administration is still required, then you will need to order the optional Remote Access Card, or connect an external modem to the Administration port.
Enhanced PC Administration Software - The PC Administration software has been enhanced to reflect the new functionality. Remember, you need this software if you are using T1 or DID.
